Ugne Virzonyte, MMus
Violin & Piano

Ugne is a Lithuanian violinist from Panevezys, Lithuania. She began her musical journey at the age of five at the Panevezys Music School and later continued her studies at Vytautas Mikalauskas Arts Gymnasium, where she studied until graduating in 2018.

Alongside violin, Ugne also has extensive experience teaching piano, supporting learners in achieving excellent results in ABRSM and Trinity face-to-face and digital exams. She currently teaches at the Artistic School of Music in Harrow, helping her students build strong technical foundations, develop musical confidence, prepare for exams or simply enjoy learning the instrument.

Ugne moved to Scotland in 2018 to study at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where she completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Violin Performance under the guidance of Greg Lawson. Her studies played a key role in shaping her artistic identity and encouraged versatility across a wide range of musical styles.

Alongside classical violin performance, Ugne explored historically informed baroque performance, Scottish traditional music, classical improvisation, and interdisciplinary projects. She has performed with leading orchestras such as the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, working with conductors including Thomas Dausgaard, Martyn Brabbins, and Michael Seal. She has also taken part in masterclasses with musicians such as the Brodsky Quartet, Nicola Benedetti, and Simon Fischer.

Between 2023 and 2024, Ugne toured across Scotland in collaborative projects combining classical, flamenco, and contemporary music, performing in venues such as Usher Hall, Glasgow City Halls, St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh, and other historic locations.
