Xin Yee Ong, BMus

 Piano

Xin Yee was born in Johor, Malaysia. She is a pianist and a dedicated piano teacher with six years of teaching experience. Xin Yee began learning the piano at the age of five. At 14 she obtained her ATCL diploma (Associate of Trinity College London), and her LTCL diploma (Licenciate of Trinity College London) in the following year. She had the privilege of graduating from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where she studied under renowned tutors such as Graeme McNaught, Aaron Shorr, Fali Pavri and Sinae Lee, with a scholarship. Xin Yee has performed at numerous prestigious venues, including the Bently Music Auditorium, Harmonic Auditorium, Petronas Philharmonic Hall,  RCS Stevenson Concert Hall, Glasgow city hall and many others. She has had the privilege of attending masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Nikolai Lugansky, Roy Howat, Steven Osborne, Tony Byrne and Rickie Oui. Xin Yee actively participates in piano competiotions. She won the Harmonic Piano Competition in 2014, the Malaysian Piano Competition in 2018 and many other remarkable achievements. Instrumental music has played a significant role in Xin Yee’s musical journey. At the age of 15, Xin Yee joined Chamber music as a pianist. Over the past 5 years, she has had numerous performances with the Harmonic Chamber. She performed Alkan's Concerto da camera for piano, op. 10 no. 2 in C# minor with Harmonic Chamber group at the Harmonic Auditorium in Malaysia when she was 15. Additionally, in October 2018, Xin Yee took part in a concert as the concertmaster, performing Mozart's Requiem in D minor together with Johor Bahru Chamber Choir.
